What we stand for
Wonder Audiobooks is all about the great vintage authors of yesteryear. We
only do unabridgements. The texts are read word for word. What is
vintage fiction? For Wonder Audio it means books and stories published
from the 1930s to the 1960s. Does that mean we'll never publish a story
from 1927or 1970? We might, we just might.
Great stories is only the beginning. We're committed to getting fabulous
narrators as well. Stories truly come alive when read by a very
talented actor. We want and give the best for our listeners.
Supreme value for the buyer is another of our mission statements. We will
be adding special features to our audiobooks - like enhanced CDs and great
artwork.
Why we don't publish
newer stories
It's not because we don't like them. There are other fine audiobook
companies that concentrate on new releases and bestsellers. It seems that
the classics of SF/fantasy and other genre fiction are being overlooked,
and that there is a wealth of spectacular older material that is
slipping away into obscurity. Wonder Audiobooks is committed to bringing
these classics to new life while preserving less famous, but terrific stories from the
rubbish heap of obscurity.
What's in a name
Why Wonder? One early descriptor of science fiction was its "sense of
wonder." That childlike amazement of the impossible being made
possible through fiction. Wonder Audio wants to recapture that
sense. That doesn't mean we will only publish "fun" audiobooks
or pulpy trash. But we will publish stories that have a nice balance of
fun pulpy fiction that has literary merit.

We will be releasing audio as digital downloads very soon.
